The following COOLING CENTERS will be open for residents:
The Putnam Municipal Complex, 200 School Street, Putnam will be open as a cooling center Wednesday, July 20 from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 21 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Friday, July 22 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Library and Community Rooms may be used as necessary.
The Plainfield Recreation Center, 482 Norwich Road, Plainfield is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through the end of the week.
Thompson Public Library, 934 Riverside Drive, North Grosvenordale is open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am until 8 pm, and Friday, July 22 from 10 am until 5 pm; and the Quinebaug Fire Station, 720 Quinebaug Road, is open Saturday and Sunday, July 23 & 24 – please call to confirm times at 1-860-604-7457.
The Woodstock Town Hall, 415 Route 169, Woodstock will be available as a cooling station from noon to 4 pm Wednesday and Thursday, July 20 & 21.
The Pomfret Community Center, 207 Mashamoquet Road, is open Wednesday and Thursday, July 20 & 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m; as well as the Pomfret Public Library, 449 Pomfret Street, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
